Ombré Layer Cake

Ombré Layer Cake a beautiful and nice colorful cake. It’s a perfect for a big party cake. Because it has different color layers so, it’s eye catchy. The cake is also famous for its taste .









For the cake:
340 gramscake flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tbspbaking powder
226 gramsunsalted butter, at room temperature
400 gramsgranulated sugar
237 mlwhole milk
2tbsp vanilla
5 large egg whites
Red gel food coloring
Blue gel food coloring
For the vanilla butter bgcream:
340 gramsunsalted butter, at room temperature
1 kg 360 gramspowdered sugar, sifted

Pinch of salt
1 tablespoonvanilla extract
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Sprinkles, if desired


  • Divide this dough in to 5 parts. Remember all this 5 parts will be same weight. Mix the gel color in each bowls. In this case we will add bright red, light red, bright blue and light blue.
  • Using our best stand cake mixer we will beat the butter and sugar first. Beat them form low to high speed and until it turned smooth and fluffy. Now add the ingredients into the bowl. Add dry ingredient then wet and finally dry ingredient again. Don’t drop all ingredients together.
  • You need 2 separate bowls. Put together the cake flours salt and baking powder in one bowl. In the other bowl put the milk, vanilla and egg together.
  • You need 350 degree F preheated oven to bake this cake recipe. We will use 8-inch round pan for the cake. We are making 5 layers ombre cake. You have to bake all in separate.
  • Fill your cake pan with the mix and cook it 14-16 minutes. Finish your cooking by Check the centre of the cake when touched it bounce back. Cook all the 5 layers you needs. Place all the layers for make it cool.

To make the butter cream:

  • For the butter cream we will use are stand mixers. We will beat all the ingredients likes’ butter, powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and whipping cream with low speed to high speed. Up to 4-5 minutes it turned light and creamy.

To assemble the layer cake:

  • Use a cake stand and place the bright blue layer cake. Cover this layer by butter creams. You will need ½ cup of butter creams. In the same process top others color layer and cover with the creams.
  • Now cover the full layer you build with remaining frosting and decorate. Put is in to the coolers within 1 hour before serve.



  • Gel food color is preferred for this cake recipe.
  • For the weight measurements use digital scale because dividing butter is important here.
  • Cool your cake at list 1 hour before serve.
  • Worm you knife before slice the cake.
